PeopleSenseStaff Board of Trustees Donate Giving Month Blog Moodle Search Search for: Flexi-MA in Kingdom Theology We now offer the Flexi-MA option for those needing a flexible and dynamic MA programme but who are unable to join WTC’s local Hub communities. It is unshut to any EU national (for non-EU individuals living in the EU, please *protected email*). The undertow content options are the same for students on both the Hub-based and Flexi-MA tracks. Both tracks get the weightier of the live teaching with the rest of the MA learning community, twice yearly for 4-5 day residentials in early September and January, in Telford, UK. For Hub-based MA students the non-residential teaching is delivered on Saturdays in their chosen Hub. For Flexi-MA students the wastefulness of the teaching is accessed online at your convenience. You watch the teaching videos, liaise with your tutor via email or Skype, and write your assignments equal to your schedule. Both tracks have wangle to sense throughout the year via email as well as access to resources that lecturers post online via Moodle (WTC’s virtual learning environment for students).   Flexi-MA students within the UK and Sweden are asked to select a Hub which can be used to wangle library resources should they wish. Students resident outside the UK or Sweden, or not within easy travelling loftiness of an existing Hub, will need to ensure that they can wangle a decent wonk theological library, or have the personal resources to purchase books that will be required for research at this level. In addition, all students have wangle to an enormous online database of periodical wares and some e-books.   Can I shepherd the Hub teaching Saturdays as a Flexi-MA student? No, teaching Saturdays are only for the Hub-based students who make a transferral to the Hub learning community.   Beyond the two residentials, are there any opportunities to finger part of the larger student community? Yes. Flexi-MA students will participate in occasional online hangouts with lecturers as well as stuff given the opportunity to connect with other students via private social media groups. In addition, WTC provides a number of theology events throughout the UK, Channel Islands and Sweden each year, at which students can connect in person.   The undertow is validated by the University of Chester.UndertowContent Year 1 Modules TH7928: Reading the Old Testament for theDenomination- Dr Matt Lynch This module provides you with an opportunity to reflect on the significance of the Old Testament as Christian Scripture, with sustentation to key challenges and opportunities that the Old Testament presents for those in Christian ministry and mission. This undertow will provide opportunities to consider the plush loss of the Old Testament in modern denomination life. Students will explore the key upstanding challenges to recovering the Old Testament in the modern world (gender, violence, ethnocentrism, historicity), and various ways that the Old Testament might be recovered for personal andDenominationenrichment. TH7923: Voices for a Just Society - Dr Bob Ekblad This module explores Biblical and theological perspectives on social justice. The objective of the module is to help students develop a framework for thinking critically well-nigh current issues. In order to do this we explore and evaluate the prophetic traditions in the Old and New Testaments in relation to trendy thinking and practices virtually social justice. TH7929: Luke - Acts - Dr Adesola Akala & Dr Jason Myers In this module students will examine the historical preliminaries and theological emphases within the narrative and literary settings of Luke-Acts. Close readings that engage with notable scholarship will utilise selected pericopes to illustrate intersections between history, theology and spirituality in the Lukan corpus. Throughout the study, sustentation will be given to the spiritual implications of Luke’s theology, and the significance of the Spirit as a subject in Luke-Acts. Year 2 Modules TH7926: Faithfully Performing the Biblical Drama: ChristianValuesfor Discipleship & Witness - Dr Andrew Goddard This module explores and critically assesses concepts and issues in Christian values with a biblical and theological focus. It introduces the subject of values increasingly widely surpassing examining the particular task of Christian values as an wonk willpower enabling Christians to live lives worthy of their calling in true-blue discipleship and witness as part of Christian mission. TH7927: Ecclesiology in Theory & Practice - Dr Lucy Peppiatt and Dr Chris Green This module explores key theological themes in relation to ecclesiology, examines the historical developments within the church, and gives students the opportunity for hair-trigger reflection on denomination traditions and wonted practice. There will be opportunities for students to critically evaluate their own denomination traditions as well as engaging with a wholesale appreciation of other traditions. In addition, students will study new forms of denomination and possible developments in the future. Students will engage with topics such as what constitutes the church, denominationalism and ecumenism, gender and sexuality in relation to denomination leadership, feminism, liberation theology, mission, and fresh expressions. TH7930: Paul & the Spirit - Dr Ben Blackwell TBC TH7917: MA Research Dissertation - various sense The dissertation gives students the opportunity to explore their own theological interests, and if they choose, to undertake a sustained study in some speciality of social transformation or marketplace theology. Students select a dissertation topic in conjunction with tutors and will pursue guided, but largely independent, research.  UndertowDelivery In wing to two compulsory residential teaching weeks, hub based MA students are required to shepherd between 2 or 3 MA Teaching Saturdays throughout the year. The dates for the 2018/19 wonk year are still to be confirmed.  Students who are on the Flexi-MA do not shepherd the MA teaching Saturdays, but receive recorded teaching without each Saturday event. Entry Requirements A Bachelor’s stratum (at 2:1 or higher) or a Graduate Diploma in theology (average mark 60% or higher) or a related willpower is often required. Those without a theology stratum may be eligible for the Post Graduate Diploma in Kingdom Theology, which equates to the MA without the dissertation element. Students who maintain a 60% or higher stereotype may be eligible to moreover well-constructed a dissertation for an MA award. Eligibility for the Post Graduate Diploma will be unswayable on the understructure of a humanities degree, vestige of theological engagement and/or training, or relevant work experience. Applications may be taken from EU Nationals (in wing to those students resident in the UK or Sweden) for the Flexi-MA.
